Kosa silk is a Sanskrit name of Tussar Silk. It is obtained from cocoons especially on Arjun, sal, or saja trees. The manufacturing process of Kosa silk is quite time-consuming and complicated due to the rarity of Kosa worm. The process of making a Kosa Silk Saree may take about two to five days. This type of silk is known for its rich texture and delicate nature, considered an ideal fabric to be worn for special occasions.
