This fusion collection of Kosa Silk adorned with Shibori & Batik technique an innovative offering from the house of Aprudha. This fascinating blend is designed for the textile lovers to add these crafts together in their wardrobe.
Kosa silk is a Sanskrit name of Tussar Silk. It is obtained from cocoons especially on Arjun, sal, or saja trees. The manufacturing process of Kosa silk is quite time-consuming and complicated due to the rarity of Kosa worm. The process of making a Kosa Silk Saree may take about two to five days. This type of silk is known for its rich texture and delicate nature, considered an ideal fabric to be worn for special occasions.

Batik is process of decorating fabric by covering a part of it with a coat of wax and then colouring the fabric. The wax covered areas keep their original colour and when the wax is removed the contrast between the coloured and uncoloured areas gives the design.
Shibori is a handmad technique for colouring the fabric that involves folding, twisting, binding the cloth, and then colouring it in the colour solution. There or rubber bands are used to bind the fabric which resists the colour, resulting in a portion of the fabric that takes contrast colour in the patterns created by resistance and other portions of the fabric remain in the base colour.
