Aprudha Presents this beautiful chikankari kurti. This art belongs to the city of nawabs. Yes we are talking about Lucknow. History of chikankari goes back to the Mughal period. And it is said that this art was very much loved and appreciated by Noor-Jahan one of the Mughal queens.

The process starts with block printing. The fabric is spread and designs are carved out using blocks. Then the outline is hand stitched using needles and later on the gaps are filled depending on the design. Generally you will find floral motifs as an offering. Ater the completion of the embroidery, the fabric is washed and starched. There are more than a dozen types of Chikankari embroideries . This art is extremely tedious and involves expertise that only highly skilled artisans have.  The Time taken to design could be anywhere between 10 days to several months depending upon the intricacies of the work.

Today people are selling machine embroidery in the name of chikankari at comparatively low rates. Also the prices are defined according to the intricacy of the work and how neatly it appears on the back side. Our products are genuine hand embroidered made on pure fabrics.

Today this embroidery is available on almost any type of fabric. An indian Women's wardrobe is not complete without a chikankari kurti or saree.
